From the plaque located on the site:
"This Highland Creek burying ground dates back to the reign of George III prior to 1800. On this site stood Wesleyan Methodist Church 1865-1891, merged with Bible Christian Methodist Church which became Centennial Methodist in 1891 and later Centennial United Church [in] 1925. Plaque [was] erected in 1967 by Centennial United Church of Canada and Wesleyan Cemetery Board."
