This church was community initiated in 1908 to providethe area with a roman catholic church and roman catholic education. The cornerstone of the church was laid in 1913 from this time church services were held in the basement of the facility. This church is well recognized as it is one of the few churches in the area built in the Renaissance Revival Style. There are a number of stained glass windows of varying styles throughout the church. The windows were purchased at varying times due to financial limitations. Preservation of the parish was extremely important. In the 20th century when the church underwent major restoration, in which many of the original elements preserved including the baptismal front and bas relief stations of the cross. This church has long been a patron of the arts, in their centenary celebration in 2013, Antonio Caruso was commissioned to carve a wooden statue of St Clare.
