The church was originally founded in 1889 as Garden Avenue Methodist Mission.  A new building was constructed in the 1890s on Galley west of Sorauren, known as St. Alban's Methodist Church.  Finally, in 1909, the current church building was completed (known as North Parkdale Methodist Church), designed by architect George Martel Miller.  The church eventually became North Parkdale United Church in 1925, and in 1961 was purchased by the Greek Orthodox community.  In 2000, a fire gutted the interior, which was then rebuilt in the byzantine style.  Odyssey Montessori School currently occupies a portion of the building.
