This English Renaissance and Palattzo style building was designed by architect Francis Spencer Baker in 1922.
Structurally, the building is an example of the late 19th- and early 20th-century floor system that combined hollow clay tiles and concrete that was shaped into segmental arches between steel beams.
Elements of the interior spaces have been maintained including the lobby's emerald green terrazzo floors, marble and wood paneling. Intricate foyer doors were brought over from the past Art Deco Toronto Star building and installed at 357 Bay St. in 1991.
Owned and operated by Dream Unlimited Corporation, in 2020 the architecture firm Partisans, with heritage specialists ERA Architects began work on a renovation to the building.
