This building was Toronto´s Centennial Project. It was renovated in the 1980´s.This property’s contribution lies in its role in sparking the redevelopment of the District in the 1960s and 1970s, its association with Canada’s centenary, its role as a cultural hub of the District today and its function as a city-wide landmark and a gateway to the District from the Financial District and Union Station. The structure also contributes to the physical character of the District through its distinctive Brutalist architecture and its prominent siting across from Berczy Park.
